India Launches Advanced Barrier-less Tolling System for Highways
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, led by Union Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari, has implemented the Multi-Lane Free Flow (MLFF) tolling system to transform highway travel in India. This initiative aims to eliminate barriers at toll plazas, thereby reducing travel time, minimizing pollution, and lowering logistical costs. Developed with international-standard technology, MLFF will significantly reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions, while increasing highway revenue and efficiency. The system integrates Automatic Number Plate Recognition technology with FASTag-based Electronic Toll Collection to ensure seamless and efficient toll operations.
