India Launches Cashless Treatment Scheme for Road Accident Victims

The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, under Section 162 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, has launched the Cashless Treatment for Road Accident Victims Scheme, 2025. This statutory scheme provides up to Rs. 1.5 lakh for the treatment of accident victims for a maximum of 7 days. Victims receive stabilization treatment at designated hospitals alongside integration with existing platforms and insurance contributions to manage funds, ensuring timely care and processing claims.
