India Launches Cell Broadcast System to Enhance Disaster Management

India has launched the Cell Broadcast System (CBS) developed by C-DOT to improve disaster response and public safety. Under the guidance of Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, and launched by Union Minister of Communications Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia, the technology provides real-time, geo-targeted alerts via mobile devices, covering 2G to 5G networks. This system aims to deliver timely emergency messages during disasters, strengthening India's proactive disaster management approach.
