The Government of India has launched the Credit Guarantee Scheme for Microfinance Institutions-2.0 (CGSMFI-2.0) to bolster lending within the microfinance sector. The initiative aims to provide up to ₹20,000 crore in credit guarantees through the National Credit Guarantee Trustee Company Limited, benefiting approximately 36 lakh microfinance borrowers and enhancing financial inclusion for people at the economic pyramid's base.
