India Launches First Biofoundry Network to Boost Biotechnology Sector

India has launched its first Biofoundry Network under the BioE3 Policy to achieve a $300 billion bioeconomy by 2030. This initiative aims to transform the country's biotechnology landscape through advanced biomanufacturing facilities supporting diverse sectors. The Government also introduced the Biopharma SHAKTI scheme with substantial funding to bolster domestic biopharmaceutical capabilities. The Biotechnology Ignition Grant programme has further strengthened early-stage biotech innovations across India.
