India Launches First Fleet of EV Trucks at JNPA

The Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, inaugurated India's first fleet of electric heavy trucks with swappable batteries at the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA). This initiative aims to convert 90% of JNPA's 600-truck fleet to electric vehicles by 2026, enhancing sustainable logistics. An MoU was signed with Ashoka University to develop a tariff benchmarking framework for ports.
