India Launches National Mission on Natural Farming
The Indian government has initiated the National Mission on Natural Farming (NMNF) with an impressive budget of ₹2481 crore, aimed at advancing sustainable and low-cost farming practices across the country. This mission, which received approval from the Union Cabinet in November 2024, seeks to promote farming systems rooted in natural processes, encourage local livestock integration, and reduce reliance on external inputs. It also focuses on enhancing soil health and developing a national certification for chemical-free produce. This strategic initiative was announced by Shri Ramnath Thakur in the Lok Sabha, highlighting its importance for sustainable agricultural development.
