India Launches National Red List Roadmap at IUCN Congress

At the IUCN World Conservation Congress in Abu Dhabi, Union Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Shri Kirti Vardhan Singh, launched India's National Red List Assessment initiative. This initiative aims to establish a nationally coordinated red-listing system to assess and monitor the conservation status of species, fulfilling commitments under the Convention on Biological Diversity and the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. The goal is to publish National Red Data Books for flora and fauna by 2030, enhancing biodiversity conservation efforts in India.
