India Launches Nationwide HPV Vaccination Program
The Government of India has launched a nationwide HPV vaccination program aimed at preventing cervical cancer among young girls. Approximately 1.15 crore girls aged 14 will receive the Gardasil-4 vaccine free of charge across all states and union territories. By introducing this program, India joins over 160 countries in including HPV vaccination in their national immunization schedules, contributing to the global goal of cervical cancer elimination.
