India Leads BRICS Women's Agenda with Preparatory Meeting

The Ministry of Women and Child Development led the first Preparatory Meeting of the BRICS Women’s Working Group on April 30, 2026. This event, conducted virtually under India's presidency of BRICS, gathered representatives from BRICS nations, Indian government departments, and partners such as UN Women and Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). The meeting focused on key themes including women-led governance, digital inclusion, entrepreneurship, skill development, and climate action with a commitment to advancing women-led development. The discussions are set to contribute to the upcoming BRICS Women Working Group Meeting and Women Ministerial Meeting in July 2026.
