India-Maldives Joint Military Exercise EKUVERIN Begins in Kerala

The 14th edition of the India-Maldives Joint Military Exercise EKUVERIN has commenced in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. Running from December 2 to December 15, 2025, the exercise involves 45 personnel each from the Indian Army's GARHWAL RIFLES and the Maldives National Defence Force. Aimed at enhancing interoperability and operational capabilities in counter-insurgency and counter-terrorism settings, the exercise underscores the close military collaboration and commitment to regional security between the two nations. Conducted alternately in both countries since 2009, EKUVERIN reflects India's Neighbourhood First Policy.
