India Post Launches Advanced Postal Technology (APT)
The Department of Posts (DoP) in India has rolled out IT 2.0, known as Advanced Postal Technology (APT), marking a significant step towards digital modernization. This initiative aims to enhance postal and financial services across 1.65 lakh post offices, aligning with the Digital India vision. APT introduces a microservices-based application, improving service delivery with features like QR-code payments and a 10-digit DIGIPIN for accuracy. The rollout, which trained over 4.6 lakh employees, has already shown resilience by handling millions of bookings and deliveries in a single day.
