India Proposes Design Law Reforms to Align with Global Standards

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, part of the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, has proposed amendments to India's Designs Act, 2000. The aim is to align with global best practices by including provisions like design protection for virtual designs, deferring design publication, and multiple design filings in a single application. The Concept Note outlining these amendments has been released for public consultation.
