India Proposes New OTT Accessibility Guidelines
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of India has proposed new accessibility guidelines for over-the-top (OTT) platforms to better serve hearing and visually impaired users. Released for public consultation in October 2025, the draft guidelines align with India's constitutional and international commitments to disability rights. The proposed two-phase implementation will initially involve public broadcasters, with private broadcasters following suit. This initiative follows previously issued standards for television programs.
