India Pushes Digital Life Certificate with Face Authentication
The Government of India, through the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, has implemented a Nationwide Digital Life Certificate (DLC) campaign to facilitate pensioners, especially senior citizens and those with limited mobility. The campaign includes the innovative Face Authentication Technique, allowing certificates to be generated via smartphone. Highlights from the 2025-2026 campaign include 1.90 crore DLCs generated, with significant numbers utilizing the new technique. Efforts have been made to ensure accessibility and compliance through banks, India Post Payments Bank, and Post Offices.
