India Re-Elected to Codex Executive Committee for Collaborative Food Governance
India has successfully concluded its participation in the 48th Codex Alimentarius Commission (CAC48), securing a unanimous mandate for its re-election to the Executive Committee (CCEXEC) for the Asia region. The Indian delegation, led by FSSAI CEO Shri Rajit Punhani, emphasized the importance of efficiency, data management, and equitable standards in global food governance. Key achievements included advancements in standards for fresh fruits, vegetables, and cashew kernels, as well as the adoption of guidelines for pesticide monitoring and aflatoxin contamination prevention. India reaffirmed its commitment to fostering food safety and fair trade within the multilateral system.
