India Receives ISSA Award 2025 for Social Security Achievements
India has been awarded the prestigious ISSA Award 2025 for 'Outstanding Achievement in Social Security' at the World Social Security Forum in Malaysia. Union Labour Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya highlighted the country's significant increase in social security coverage from 19% in 2015 to 64.3% in 2025, benefiting over 940 million citizens. The award recognizes India's efforts in advancing social protection, including the successful implementation of the e-Shram portal, which has registered over 300 million unorganised workers. India also secured the highest vote share in the ISSA General Assembly with 30 seats.
