India Sets New Greenhouse Gas Emission Targets for Carbon-Intensive Sectors

The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change in India has expanded its Carbon Credit Trading Scheme by notifying Greenhouse Gas Emission Intensity targets for 208 additional carbon-intensive sectors, including Petroleum Refineries, Petrochemicals, Textiles, and Secondary Aluminium. This brings the total to 490 obligated entities under the Indian Carbon Market, aligning industrial practices with India's climate goals.
