India Strengthens TB-Mukt Bharat Abhiyan with Enhanced Strategy
India's Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has taken significant steps to bolster the TB-Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, aiming for a tuberculosis-free India. The initiative, under the National Health Mission, features key strategies such as comprehensive screening by chest X-ray and NAAT testing, alongside enhanced nutrition support and preventative care. Since April 2018, 1.35 crore TB patients have received ₹4,322 crore in benefits via the Ni-kshay Poshan Yojana, with nutrition support per patient doubled to ₹1,000 monthly. Community engagement through various programs ensures ongoing public awareness and participation.
