India Targets 208 GWh Battery Storage by 2030

In a bid to meet its 2030 target of 500 GW electricity capacity from non-fossil fuels, India is focusing on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) to support its renewable energy goals. The Ministry of Power has outlined several policy measures, financing options, and incentives to boost BESS development. Currently, India projects a demand for 208 GWh of BESS by 2030, with numerous projects underway and policies in place to ensure their integration and viability.
