India-Thailand Joint Military Exercise MAITREE-XIV Commences

The 14th edition of the India-Thailand joint military exercise MAITREE-XIV began on September 1, 2025, at Joint Training Node in Umroi, Meghalaya. This bilateral exercise aims to enhance cooperation and interoperability between the Indian Army and the Royal Thai Army, focusing on counter-terrorist operations in semi-urban terrain. The two-week program includes tactical drills and culminates in a 48-hour validation exercise. Instituted in 2006, Exercise MAITREE reinforces defense cooperation between the two nations.
