India to Digitize Courts with e-Courts Project Phase-III

The Indian Government is rolling out the third phase of the e-Courts Project with an investment of Rs.7,210 crore. This initiative aims to transition courts to a digital and paperless environment by digitizing case records, expanding video conferencing, and introducing technologies like AI for case management. Major accomplishments include the connectivity of 99.5% of court complexes to a high-speed network, establishment of virtual courts, and significant progress in e-filing and online case hearings. The project also plans for extensive training programs to ensure smooth digital integration across the judiciary.
