India-UK Parliamentary Committee Holds Dialogue on Trade

The Department-Related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Commerce of India met with an eight-member delegation from the United Kingdom Parliament’s Business and Trade Committee in New Delhi, led by Rt Hon Liam Byrne. The dialogue focused on enhancing bilateral trade relations, underlined by the recent signing of the India–UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA), which is expected to significantly boost trade volumes. India stressed the need for a fair tariff system and a conducive business environment, while highlighting India's potential as a significant market and favored destination for UK industries.
