Indian Air Force Intensifies Flood Relief Operations in Northern Punjab and Jammu

The Indian Air Force (IAF) has ramped up flood relief operations in Northern India, particularly in Jammu and Punjab, since August 27, 2025. Utilizing Mi 17 and Chinook helicopters, over 55 sorties have been conducted to rescue stranded civilians and deliver essential supplies. A total of 215 individuals have been rescued, and 7,300 kgs of relief material have been distributed. The IAF is coordinating closely with the Indian Army, Border Security Force, and National Disaster Response Force to ensure effective operations as the situation evolves.
