Indian Armed Forces Depart for Multilateral Exercise ZAPAD 2025 in Russia

An Indian Armed Forces contingent of 65 personnel has departed for the Mulino Training Ground in Nizhniy, Russia, to participate in the multilateral military exercise ZAPAD 2025 from September 10 to 16, 2025. The contingent includes 57 Army personnel, 7 Air Force members, and 1 Navy member, led by a battalion of the KUMAON Regiment. The exercise aims to enhance military cooperation, interoperability, and exchange of tactics in conventional warfare and counter-terrorism operations, focusing on joint operations in open terrain.
