Indian Army Executes Landmark High-Altitude Eye Camp in Ladakh

The Indian Army, in collaboration with local authorities and medical experts, conducted a high-altitude surgical eye camp, 'Op Netra 1.0', at 153 General Hospital in Leh, Ladakh from April 27-30, 2026. Led by Brigadier (Dr.) Sanjay Kumar Mishra, the team treated 950 patients, performing complex surgeries to restore sight to 15 visually impaired individuals. Additionally, the Op Netra App was launched to improve patient management. This initiative is part of a broader effort that has conducted over 2,500 sight-restoring surgeries nationwide since November 2025.
