Indian Astronomers Discover Active Formation of Luminous Blue Straggler Star
A team of Indian astronomers, in collaboration with international researchers, has discovered a luminous blue straggler star actively gaining mass from its companion in the binary star system TIC 327546480. This finding provides direct observational evidence for the formation process of blue straggler stars in the star cluster Collinder 261, located about 9500 light-years away.
