Indian Navy Set to Commission First Indigenous Diving Support Craft ‘DSC A20’
The Indian Navy is preparing to commission its first indigenously designed and constructed Diving Support Craft, DSC A20, on December 16, 2025, at Kochi under the Southern Naval Command. DSC A20 is the lead ship in a fleet of five crafts developed by Titagarh Rail Systems Limited in Kolkata. Equipped with advanced diving systems and a catamaran hull for enhanced stability, this vessel significantly strengthens the Navy's capabilities in conducting underwater inspections, salvage operations, and coastal deployments. The commissioning highlights India's commitment to self-reliance and the success of the 'Make in India' initiative within the maritime sector.
