Indian Nuclear Plants Undergoing Comprehensive Security Audits

In response to ongoing global security challenges, the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) has implemented extensive security audits of its installations, categorized from 'A to D' based on sensitivity. These audits, conducted in collaboration with Intelligence Bureau (IB) and Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), ensure that appropriate measures are in place to safeguard nuclear facilities. Security systems at these plants include electronic surveillance and access control mechanisms, bolstered by in-house developed hardware and software designed to withstand cyber threats. Periodic emergency exercises and reviews by the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB) and National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) further bolster the security and safety infrastructure of these critical facilities.
