Indian Railways Fare Structure Update: No Increase for Short Journeys
Indian Railways has announced a rationalized fare structure effective from December 26, 2025, with no fare increases for suburban services and Second Class Ordinary journeys up to 215 km. A minimal increase of 1 paise per km has been applied for Sleeper and First Class journeys, while Mail/Express fares see a 2 paise per km hike. Existing bookings will remain unaffected.
