Indian Railways Introduces Special Trains for Festive Season
Indian Railways has initiated a large-scale operation of special trains during the 2025–26 Christmas and New Year holiday period to address the expected increase in passenger flow. Across nine railway zones, 138 special trains have been scheduled for 650 trips, of which 244 are already notified. Western Railway leads with the most approved trips, while additional services are in place to avoid overcrowding on regular routes and provide seamless travel across major corridors and holiday destinations.
