Indian Railways Launches First Vande Bharat Sleeper Train

The Indian Railways has announced the introduction of the first-ever Vande Bharat Sleeper Train, set to run between Guwahati in Assam and Howrah in West Bengal. This initiative, announced by Union Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, marks a significant milestone for Indian Railways, promising speed, comfort, and modern amenities for passengers. The train features newly designed bogies, ergonomic interiors, and a range of safety and comfort measures, aimed at enhancing the passenger experience. Scheduled to commence services in January 2026, the train will cater to overnight passengers with region-specific culinary offerings.
