Indian Railways Reports Increase in Freight Revenue and Loading
In February 2026, the Ministry of Railways reported a rise in freight revenue and freight loading due to increased traffic in core commodities like steel, iron ore, and fertilizers. Freight loading reached 137.72 million tonnes, marking a 3.96% increase from the previous year. Freight revenue grew by 2.97% to ₹14,571 crore.
