The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved two projects proposed by the Ministry of Railways to construct a fourth line on the Sainthia-Pakur and Santragachi-Kharagpur routes. These projects, valued at approximately Rs 4,474 crore, will expand the Indian Railways' network by 192 kilometers across five districts in West Bengal and Jharkhand, expected to be completed by 2030-31.
