The Indian Ministry of Rural Development, led by Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, announced an increase in the administrative expenditure for Rozgar Sahayaks from 6% to 9% in the country's budget. This decision aims to resolve issues related to delayed salary payments for employment assistants and other technical staff. Additionally, the new scheme guarantees 125 days of employment compared to the previous 100 days under MGNREGA, with provisions for timely salary disbursements and enhanced worker rights. The Viksit Bharat scheme's legal upgrade was emphasized, underscoring its goal to improve village-level infrastructure and livelihoods through collaborative development.
