In a historic triumph, the Indian Squash Team clinched their first World Cup title with a stunning victory against Hong Kong in Chennai. The team, comprising Joshna Chinappa, Abhay Singh, Velavan Senthilkumar, and Anahat Singh, celebrated their 3-0 win, marking India's debut in the quartet of nations, including Australia, England, and Egypt, to have won the Squash World Cup. Sports Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya praised the team's milestone, citing it as a proud moment in Indian sports. The players have benefited from the Target Olympic Podium Scheme, which has enhanced their preparation through international exposure. Looking ahead, the team aims for success in the 2026 Asian Games and the 2028 Olympics when squash is set to debut.
