India's ACC Battery Manufacturing Initiative Progresses

The Ministry of Heavy Industries is advancing its Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for Advanced Chemistry Cell (ACC) Battery Storage with a significant investment of ₹18,100 crore to build a 50 GWh domestic manufacturing capacity. As of now, 40 GWh capacity has been allocated to four firms, yet only 1 GWh has been installed. The initiative focuses on reducing reliance on imports and enhancing domestic production capabilities.
