The Ministry of Earth Sciences has released a white paper titled "Transforming India’s Blue Economy: Investment, Innovation and Sustainable Growth," which aims to unlock India's marine resource potential through sustained investment, public-private partnerships, and targeted financial mechanisms. The paper outlines a roadmap to 2035, highlighting collaborative efforts across 25 ministries and showcasing models of economic growth and environmental sustainability, including community-led seaweed cultivation, smart port transformation in Kochi, shipbreaking in Alang, and sustainable tourism in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
