India's Capital Goods Sector Receives a Boost with New Competitiveness Scheme

The Indian Ministry of Heavy Industries has launched the second phase of the Scheme for Enhancement of Competitiveness in the Indian Capital Goods Sector. With a financial outlay of Rs. 1207 crores and significant budgetary support, 29 projects across various states have been sanctioned to enhance the sector's capabilities. The scheme includes setting up Centres of Excellence, Common Engineering Facility Centres, Testing and Certification Centres, Industry Accelerators, and developing Qualification Packages, all overseen by the Project Review and Monitoring Committee to ensure project progress.
