In June 2026, India's captive and commercial coal mining sector recorded significant growth, achieving 17.88 million tonnes in production and 18.55 million tonnes in dispatch. This marks a 14.9% rise from June 2025. The first quarter of FY 2026-27 saw a 5.35% increment in cumulative production compared to the previous year.
