India's Coastal Vulnerability and Climate Change Adaptation Strategies

The Indian National Centre for Ocean Information and Services (INCOIS) has released an interim report assessing climate change-induced sea-level rise and coastal vulnerabilities along India's coast. The report includes Coastal Vulnerability Index maps for major cities and outlines adaptation strategies for smaller coastal cities. The Government of India is implementing the National Action Plan on Climate Change (NAPCC) and has issued guidelines for funding erosion mitigation. The National Centre for Coastal Research (NCCR) is mapping shoreline changes and developing community-based resilience programs.
