India's Comprehensive Strategy to Mitigate Stress Among Women
The Government of India, through its Ministry of Women and Child Development, has launched a comprehensive, multi-faceted approach to prevent and manage stress among women across various sectors. By integrating mental-healthcare, tele-mental-health access, occupational health measures, and socio-economic empowerment initiatives, this strategy aims to address psychological trauma and chronic stress often driven by gender-based violence and discrimination. Multimodal support includes helplines, legal aid, health services, workplace protections, and socio-economic programs. This effort is complemented by initiatives targeting women's safety in public spaces and enhancing employment opportunities through new labour codes and skill development programs.
