India's Connectivity Milestones: Universal 4G and Rapid 5G Expansion
The Indian government is committed to achieving universal 4G coverage across all villages, with rapid 5G infrastructure expansion. Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia emphasizes this goal as part of the "Vibrant Village Programme," aiming to empower remote areas, particularly in the Ashtalakshmi states, including the Northeast regions. Currently, 6.31 lakh villages are covered with 4G, and BSNL has played a key role by deploying 1 lakh indigenous towers. Additionally, significant progress in laying optical fibre cables has been achieved, enhancing digital connectivity throughout the nation.
