The National Crime Records Bureau's most recent publication highlights the increase in cyber crime cases across India from 2021 to 2023. State and central forensic facilities have been expanded to handle complex cyber crimes better. The Ministry of Home Affairs has invested Rs. 116.5 Crores in cyber forensic training labs under the Cyber Crime Prevention against Women and Children Scheme. As of now, these labs are operational in 33 states and UTs, enhancing India's digital crime investigation capabilities.
