India's DAHD Boosts Infrastructure and Technological Advancements for Dairy Farmers
The Indian Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying (DAHD) has been promoting state level dairy infrastructure with the help of two major schemes: the National Programme for Dairy Development (NPDD) and the Animal Husbandry Infrastructure Development Fund (AHIDF). These programs aim to improve milk procurement, processing, and chilling facilities, with proceedings towards new technological integration like solar-powered systems. Furthermore, numerous initiatives, such as the Rashtriya Gokul Mission, enhance productivity and genetic improvement through artificial insemination, sex-sorted semen, and IVF technologies, ultimately benefiting millions of marginal dairy farmers nationwide.
