India's Defence Atmanirbharta: Record Production and Exports

India has achieved its highest-ever defence production of ₹1.54 lakh crore in FY 2024-25, with indigenous production reaching ₹1,27,434 crore, a 174% increase since 2014-15. The government aims for ₹3 lakh crore in defence manufacturing and ₹50,000 crore in exports by 2029, supported by policy reforms and a growing role of MSMEs. Defence exports also hit a record of ₹23,622 crore, reflecting India's emergence as a global defence manufacturing hub.
