India's Defence Production Reaches Record High in FY 2024-25

India's annual defence production has reached an all-time high of Rs 1.51 lakh crore in FY 2024-25, marking an 18% growth from the previous year and a 90% increase since FY 2019-20. The Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs) contributed 77% of the total production, while the private sector's share rose to 23%. This achievement reflects the government's push for self-reliance in defence manufacturing under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative, with defence exports also surging to a record Rs 23,622 crore.
