India's Expanding Nuclear Power Infrastructure: Recent Developments and Future Plans

India has significantly increased its nuclear power generation over the past two years, with a total generation of 104,652 Million Units. The Department of Atomic Energy is advancing multiple projects, including the commissioning of a 500 MWe Prototype Fast Breeder Reactor at Kalpakkam and pre-project activities for future units. In addition, two Small Modular Reactors are planned for Tarapur, while existing reactors continue to undergo refurbishment. These initiatives aim to boost the country's nuclear capacity to 22 GW by 2032.
