India's Fertilizer Sector Receives a Green Boost with Major Ammonia Agreements

India is taking a historic step towards sustainable industrial practices with the introduction of Green Ammonia Purchase Agreements (GAPA) and Green Ammonia Supply Agreements (GASA) for its fertilizer sector under the National Green Hydrogen Mission. This move aims to ensure energy security and self-reliance by reducing dependency on imported grey ammonia in favor of domestically produced, environmentally friendly alternatives. The initiative is expected to save approximately $2.5 billion in foreign exchange over a decade by diminishing import levels and promoting local production capacities.
