India's Fisheries Sector Achieves Rapid Growth with Government Initiatives

The Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying in India has announced significant success in its fisheries and aquaculture initiatives. Between FY 2013-14 and FY 2024-25, fish production doubled to 197.75 lakh tonnes, contributing to economic growth and employment opportunities. Transformative programs like the Blue Revolution and Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana have been crucial, attracting substantial government investments and generating over 74 lakh jobs. Indian seafood exports reached a record ₹62,408 crore in 2023-24, solidifying India's position as a global leader in the industry.
